Southern Turf Specialists Pty Ltd commenced operations in November 1993.

We recognised that although there were many Tasmanian companies that supplied products and services to the Tasmanian Turf industry, there was no one that provided all service requirements under the one roof.

It was our intention to provide the Industry with a One Stop Turf Products Shop.

We also recognised the potential for us to establish a contract renovation arm of the company that specialised in golf course and sportsground renovation services.

In 1994 Southern Turf Specialists became the first company to supply total management & maintenance of sports grounds for the University of Tasmania.

In 2000, the major focus of the company changed to providing affordable contract management & maintenance for golf courses.

We also undertake grounds maintenance programmes for large corporations including Nyrstar Hobart Smelter.

The Huon Valley Golf Club is the first golf club in Tasmania to fully outsource its course maintenance for the next 5 years and Southern Turf Specialists is very happy to be associated with the club during these exciting times.

Southern Turf Specialists will be focusing on developing its contract maintenance packages to the golf course industry over the coming years, as we believe we can provide a high degree of presentation and quality at a much more affordable price than many clubs can currently do for themselves.

The initial success of our contract maintenance programs has stimulated discussions with several more golf clubs, councils and private recreation areas within Tasmania holding discussions on maintenance contracts at varying stages of negotiations.
